The Goban Board

The Goban is one of the oldest game boards known, dating back over 4000 years old.

With origins from the Orient and India this 19×19 square grid board is used to play multiple games on with deep cultural significances. It is used in many cultures around the world for entertainment, educational, social, and courtship purposes. Classic abstract games such as GO, Gomoku, Renju, Pente and many others can be played on a Goban.

This smaller grid sized board is a must have for any serious game collector.

The Tafl Board

The TAFL is the premier board found on the Predators Tract shelf, and one of the original tavern games from medieval times with a rich history. TAFL translates to ‘Table’ in German. Most commonly used to play Hnefatafl, the ‘Kings Table’, a.k.a. Viking chess, (and my favorite way to play Chess. )

On ancient Viking conquests, they would land on foreign soil, use this board, drawn on an animal skin, and use rocks to plot their next attack, making it one of the original military strategy tools.

Traditionally an 11×11 square grid with markings branded in the 4 corners and center space, the board can be custom made to 7×7, 9×9, or 13×13 sizes. ( parametric pricing @~ $2.00 per square)
